Warehouse
What is a warehouse?
Warehouse is a kind of warehouse close to the customs buildings, where the goods subject to customs duty but whose taxes and duties have not been paid yet, are protected, and small complementary transactions are made if necessary. A warehouse is a place established for the purpose of placing the goods under customs supervision and the conditions and qualifications to be sought in its establishment are determined by regulation. In addition, warehouses are a customs regime where the goods can stay indefinitely if they are placed as regulated in the customs legislation and the taxes on the goods are not paid during the time the goods remain in the warehouse.
A- Temporary Storage Location
In the light of Articles 47 and 48 of the Customs Law No. 4458 and Articles 135 of the Customs Regulation, the Temporary Storage Area is determined by the customs administrations until the goods are subjected to a customs-approved treatment or use, and where the goods are temporarily stored under the conditions determined by these administrations. We can define it as places such as warehouses, warehouses, warehouses or hangars, which are built to protect them from all kinds of external factors and interventions and are as close as possible to the places where vehicles dock or land.
Based on the definition made, we can list the general characteristics of temporary storage areas as follows;
1- Goods may stay here for a temporary period (except for time extensions due to force majeure, goods arriving by sea (45) days from the date of submission of the summary declaration, (20) days for goods arriving by other means.) 2- They are made in such a way that they can keep the items placed in a good way. 3- They are under the supervision and control of the customs.
